Rāñgalī Satth (Virtual) Mēlā 200 - S2 039, with live demonstration sessions by artist Sidharth, hosted by Bhai Baldeep Singh. He will join live from his studio situated in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, from 3:00 PM (India) onwards, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
    𝗜𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼:
Artist Sidharth was born Harjinder Singh to a Sikh family in Raikot Punjab. His artistic training began during his boyhood in Raikot, where he learned how to paint murals and friezes from Tara Mistry, a talented mason, and craftsman. As a teenager, he apprenticed at the Andretta Studio of Sardar Sobha Singh, where he studied western classical painting and augmented his knowledge of historical portraiture gleaned during middle school from Ustad Hakikat Premi. His new proximity to the Dalai Lama’s headquarters resulted in his admission to Namgyal Monastery, after which he completed a diploma in painting at Chandigarh’s College of Art. Sidharth established himself as an artist of international stature, featured in twenty-seven solo exhibitions and participating in four-hundred-ten group shows across India, Europe, and North America. Sidharth’s considerable artistic output ranges from representational to abstract, calligraphy to filmmaking, and textiles to musical composition. Natural pigments and dyes carefully selected from across the world join with similarly eclectic techniques and rich spiritual evocations in Sidharth’s artistic creations. He is the author of “Neti-Neti” (1994), an honorary D. Litt. recipient of Punjabi University, Patiala, and the 2015 winner of Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi’s Amrita Shergill Award.

As an extension of the World Music Heritage Series conceived and produced by maestro Bhai Baldeep Singh for Anād Records, the YaarAnād Virtual Baiṭhak Series aims to celebrate excellence in the fields of music, arts, dance, theatre, and literature.
The YaarAnād Virtual Baiṭhak Series marks the 400th birth anniversary of Gurū Teg Bahādur, the ninth gurū of the Sikhs and the unparalleled martyr in history, for he sacrificed his life to protect a faith he did not practice, the Hindū Dharmā. Giving his life to safeguard the Hindu Tilaka and Janēū, the ninth heir of Gurū Nānak embodied a fearless commitment to the freedom to choose and practice one’s own faith. He was a prolific pakhāwaj exponent, poet, and singer whose musical contributions include Rāga Jaijaiwantī.
